Important Trip Info
Learn more about the Keshena trip experience:
More than 350 square miles of Menominee County belongs to the Menominee Indian Tribe. Most of it is heavily forested, but it’s also home to more than 8,700 tribal members. Keshena — the tribe’s seat of government — consists of five main communities, a unique language, and its own religious practices and traditions.
Through our Rural Initiatives, we partner with a U.S.-based missionary associate who actively works with the tribal leaders to improve the community. Field Team members come alongside the pastor to complete community involvement projects and develop relational ministry opportunities on the reservation.
Teams come alongside local church leaders to tackle construction, clean-up work, and other projects, with opportunities to interact with children. We’ll work with local leaders to determine the specific projects your team will take part in and will communicate that to you 60 days prior to your trip.
