Since the early days of the organization, Convoy of Hope has partnered with local churches in Chicago for Community Events and more. We smile as we hear stories of the ripple effects of this engagement from over the years. There are now opportunities for Field Teams to serve in the city alongside a key inner-city church with connections to suburban church partners as well.

Field Teams to Chicago walk alongside local pastors and leaders to expand their reach as they show compassion throughout their community. Through connections such as building renovation, smaller daytime block parties, community gardens, “dinner church,” time with local people, area cleanup, games of basketball for those who like to play, and more, Field Teams can be a part of what God is doing in this city.

Our local hosts are longtime residents of Chicago’s South Side. They have an enormous heart for this area, relationships throughout this part of the city, and a deep understanding of the unique needs and strengths of the place.

There is an option for Field Teams to stay at the church on air mattresses, with showers, and such, or for significantly more money, in a hotel not too far from the church. Our partners have hosted hundreds of team members at their facility and understand the measures necessary to lead to a successful trip.

Field Teams members work alongside pastors and churches to complete community improvement projects and engage in relational ministry opportunities. We work closely with our local team to determine specific projects your team will take part in and will communicate that to you 60 days prior to your trip.
