Important Trip Info

Off the southeastern coast of Africa, Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world. People on the island have a rich history and live amid a beautiful and fascinating landscape.

As the precious people of the country face various challenges that have led to hunger and other forms of spiritual and material poverty, Convoy of Hope is honored to partner with them toward a more flourishing future. We work in schools to help feed children, with farmers to grow crops, and women to empower them within the community. There are numerous opportunities for Field Teams to come alongside the Convoy of Hope Madagascar team to help increase capacity. Through building kitchens, latrines, and greenhouses or participating in other projects, teams can make huge contributions to sustainability strategies for the communities with whom we work.

Madagascar's people are extremely friendly. Because the island is very large and very rural, some days may include significant driving to projects. That said, teams will enjoy interacting with children and their leaders and working alongside the community, with opportunities to experience the beauty in this fascinating nation.
